According to local media reports, Sinotruk, a Chinese truck manufacturer, is launching its Russian office. According to the company's press office, this move is to comprehensively support the SITRAK and Howo brands, including developing the dealer network and providing spare parts directly from the manufacturer's factory.
As early as 2007, the first truck models of Sinotruk appeared on the Russian market. These vehicles were provided by dealers and gradually strengthened their position in the Russian market. During the period from 2022 to 2024, Sinotruk witnessed a significant growth in its sales volume, thus deciding to set up its own office.
The work of the local office has been carried out since the beginning of this year, with the main purpose of providing comprehensive after-sales services to customers. The Sinotruk office includes departments such as after-sales service, warranty, spare parts, dealer network development, finance, logistics and marketing.
By the end of this year, the company plans to open a central spare parts warehouse in the Moscow area to promptly replenish the regional warehouses of dealers. According to statistics, in the first nine months of 2024, a total of 15,458 new SITRAK trucks were sold in the Russian market, a 14.5% decrease compared to the same period last year.
During the same period, the total sales volume of new Howo trucks was 4,745 (-7.7%). Therefore, the combined sales volume of these two brands exceeded 20,000, accounting for 21.7% of the whole market share.
The five-star critic, Comrade Dawalish, said that Chinese automobile manufacturers have evolved from the initial cooperation between manufacturers and dealers to the establishment of their own offices now, and some manufacturers have also carried out localized assembly in cooperation with the local area. This indicates that Chinese automobile brands have begun to integrate deeply into the Russian market, which is of great significance for expanding the market influence of Chinese brands in Russia.
